May Day 2026

Workers unite! A weekend of solidarity, celebration, and direct action in the Forest City.

May 1–4, 2026

The Call

May Day began as a commemoration of the 1886 Haymarket Riot, where workers striking for the 8-hour workday were met with violent police retaliation. Over time, it became a festival and celebration of the working class movement — marked by workers' protests, wildcat strikes, and mass mobilizations across the world.

This year more than ever, we need a show of force and solidarity. The London May Day Committee keeps this tradition alive by organizing a full weekend of events: rallies, workshops, fundraisers, art builds, and community gatherings.

We invite our constituency of organized labour, socialists, and all working people to join under the banner "Rise and Organize!" — and help build something worth showing up for.
